It has been reported that comedienne and sitcom legend Roseanne Barr is being considered as Rosie O’Donnell’s replacement on The View. Her reps are denying it, so who knows. I enjoy Ms. Barr and loved Roseanne (except for the last season, which was just a mess.) Whoever sits in Rosie’s seat next season should be outspoken and funny, and Roseanne certainly fits the bill on both counts.
I have been thinking of someone else, however. Well, to give credit where credit is due, Regis Philbin mentioned a name on Monday morning’s edition of Live with Regis and Kelly that seems a perfect fit to me: Kathy Griffin. She’s hilarious, and if you have seen any of her comedy specials, you know she is not afraid to lampoon anyone in the public eye. The only problem is that she and the show’s resident den mother, Barbara Walters, had not gotten along in the past, but she was a guest on the show a few months back and they seemed just fine with one another. Well, one can hope.
