It has been announced that Gilmore Girls, which stars Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham, will be ending its 7-year run on May the 15th. For us Gilmore fans, this is a day we knew was coming. The show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, left after season 6, and it showed. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it “jumped the shark,” but the writing was not quite as sharp and the storylines did start to drag a bit. However, that being said, there are very few shows that are able to stay on the air for, say, 3 years and keep their original luster (Desperate Housewives, I’m talking to you), let alone 7. Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Richard, creepy Kirk, and even that grump Luke will be missed.
