Survivor: Figi - Dreamz Backstabs Yau, Earl Wins Landslide Vote

Earl Cole

Another season of the grandaddy of all contest-based reality shows came to an end Sunday evening. This season started out slow but gave us a few really interesting players to watch, some truly frightening challenges, and the very 1st unanimous vote for a winner ever.

The 2-hour finale started with our final five (Boo, Cassandra, Dreamz, Earl, and my fav Yau-Man) racing against one another through an intricate maze, and Yau winning immunity (yay)! Boo was finally ejected from the island (double yay)! Next, the remaining four went through one of the most grueling endurance challenges I think I have ever seen on any season of the show. Just imagine torture victims being stretched on “the rack”, and you get the general idea. My man Yau did not win that particular game, but no worries, ’cause Dreamz became the immunity-idol holder, and remember Dreamz made that deal with Yau regarding giving him his immunity necklace once there was only a quartet of players left. In fact, he swore to God.

Unfortunately, this is Survivor, and vowing anything, whether a deity is involved or not means very little. So, Dreamz went back on his word and Yau-Man, who I think was one of the most surprising and honorable contestants of any season, was voted off the island (Boo! Hiss!). That betrayal elevated Earl to the obvious winner. After all, the Big D back-stabbed everyone’s favorite player in front of the jury and the 3rd member left for final tribal council, Cassandra, was a coattail rider and nothing more. So after the smoke cleared and the bitter betties in the jury humiliated and criticized the final trio, it was indeed Earl who walked away victorious. See ya next season!

Who Do You Think Was the Harshest Jury Member at the Final Tribal Council?
