I’ve only ever watched part of an episode of Tori & Dean: Inn Love. Tori was moaning because she was pregnant and couldn’t participate in a wine tasting. It seemed like something I could watch again. I know, Tori is another spoiled, rich kid, but she’s somewhat likable, maybe because she seems a little dim and not really calculated or malicious like some other celebrities in the news recently.
The premise seemed simple enough: Pregnant Tori and new husband Dean McDermott open an inn somewhere in California. Sounded a little like a modern-day Newhart…without Larry, Darryl, and Darryl, mind you. But apparently all is not what it seems.
The National Enquirer is reporting that despite the fact that on the premiere episode of the show Tori appears to be selling off her possessions to be able to purchase the inn, she doesn’t even own it, and she’s hardly ever there. Her publicist confirms,
Tori and Dean are leasing to own the inn.”
The property, known as Oak Creek Manor and owned by Christopher and Patricia King, has been on the market for at least 300 days, and in that time the asking price has gone from $3.4 million to $2.6 million. It is still actively advertised. Although Tori and Dean have appeared on camera interacting with guests, the National Enquirer has an insider that claims that the couple is “nowhere to be found on the grounds.”
And it’s so odd at the inn. When you finally manage to reach a live person at the desk, they don’t even answer the phone like it’s a real business. I had to ask if I’d reached the Chateau.
“At this point, Tori and Dean are giving more lip service than room service at the inn.”
Oxygen has renewed the show for a second season as Tori and Dean try to balance being innkeepers with having a baby.
Out of curiosity, I did a quick search on Tripadvisor.com, which I often use for hotel reviews, and to be fair, there were two good reviews and two bad reviews. But the bad reviews seem to have one thing in common, and it’s a not-so-nice greeter named Patricia. Here’s blessedone75’s experience:
…Well as we parked the car and getting out a woman named Patricia asked me what we were doing there.I looked baffled and asked what do you mean and she said that there was nothing here for people like me and then had the nerve to ask me if I could afford to stay in a plance like that while her friends were laughing.I felt humiliated and demeaned. What did she mean people like me I honestly took that as a racial slur and asking about my social status how dare she.
And DDDRanch’s:
…Upon existing our vehicle (’07 Range Rover) we were greeted or better put, verbally assaulted by a red-headed woman named Patricia. After a head -to-toe inspection she sniffed what were my wife and I there for. Certainly not her hospitality. Granted we were tired and a little wrinkled, but arriving in an $80K plus vehicle should represent that we could, at the very least, charge a credit card for a night’s rest. No words needed to be spoken between my spouse and I and we turned, with Patricia’s nose still up in the air and exited, quickly.
So Patricia chases the people out before they even have a chance to check in. Nice way to run your inn, Tori. I have to admit that I’m curious to watch the shear BS put into making season 2.
