The only thing surprising about this year’s AI finale was how excruciatingly boring it was. Hey, I am all for giving each of this year’s 12 finalists a chance to shine during the 2 hour long show, but did a whole segment have to be dedicated to the phenomenon that is Sanjaya? As annoying as that was, it wasn’t at all unexpected. I ask you, though, is it not enough to have to sit through 4 weeks of the deluded and the tone deaf at the beginning of the season? Do we really need to have them trotted out in all their sad/freaky glory. I think not.
Look, I knew this time last week that I was not going to be that into the finals, and as you can tell, I wasn’t. That does not mean, however, that I did not enjoy myself over the last few months. I may be a bit bitter right now, but chances are when next January hits, I’ll be back to my old Idol watching self. Any who…Congrats Jordin. You weren’t the best singer of the group, but you seem like a sweet kid, so best of luck. Hopefully, you will follow the paths of Kelly and Carrie, if not…well, at least you know you are guaranteed a spot on next year’s finale.
