Tonight’s installment of Idol featured four stellar performances (all of Melinda’s and Blake’s version of “This Love”), four that were very good (all of Jordin’s and Mr. Lewis’ “When I Get You Alone”), and one that was just better than average (Blake’s “Roxanne”). So with no major missteps to speak of, who gets to compete in next week’s final showdown? Well, I’m with Simon - without the incredibly consistent Mindy Doo, the evening would not be complete. The real question is….who gets that 2nd spot? Some would say Blake, but for me, Jordin has been more enjoyable to watch over the last three months. Both performers are deserving, but at the end of the day, I would rather hear Ms. Sparks sing than listen to Blake’s beat-boxing, which for me has been on overkill for the last three weeks. So, hopefully we will be saying b-b-b-bye-bye to B-B-B-Blake. Yes, I am aware how lame that was.
