After months of competition, we have finally reached the end of the American Idol season. There is just one more thing left to do - crown the winner. With Melinda out of the running, the viewers have what I had originally thought would be a difficult choice: Blake the showman or Jordin the songstress. However, after both entertainers belted out their three songs and the smoke cleared, it was pretty obvious that this type of contest was tailor-made for someone like Jordin. If there was ever any question of this, it was put to rest when both contestants performed the original song “This is My Now”. In Blake’s hands, the ballad came off as pure cheese, but when young Miss Sparks sang the same song, it transformed into something quite beautiful. When it comes right down to it, both of these kids are going to be given amazing opportunities regardless of who takes the title tomorrow evening, and it will be interesting to see what these two do with their new-found fame.
