Winehouse Weds and Parents “Shocked”

British bad-girl singer Amy Winehouse eloped over the weekend in Miami to her fiance, Blake Fielder-Civil, whom she’d been engaged to for a mere month. Six of their friends were in attendance. This tumultuous relationship and subsequent split in 2006 inspired her hit album Back to Black. Her father, Mitchell, spoke to the Sunday Mirror about the sadness of his wife and him that they weren’t in attendance:

We didn’t know about the wedding until they phoned to tell us. To say we were shocked is an understatement. I was with Amy last week in Canada and she didn’t mention it.

“I’m not angry, just a bit sad. It’s not every day your daughter gets married and it’s sad for her mum that she was not there. I would have liked to walk her up the aisle.”

23-year-old Winehouse is associated with a myriad of objectionable behavior in the past including drunken appearances, self-mutilation, eating disorders, refusing to take meds for manic depression, and tattooing her body. She and Kelly Osbourne recently coined themselves “Team Evil” for their heavy partying and trouble-making. Kelly will need to find another partner-in-crime for at least a little while until this marriage crumbles in the next couple of months.
