Was Brittany’s Husband on His Way to Getting Deported?

We recently told you about Brittany Murphy finally tying the knot. Did Brittany Murphy get persuaded into marrying Simon Monjack so that he could stay in the country? Page Six is reporting via National Enquirer that this very abrupt wedding took place a little over a month after Monjack was arrested on visa charges. Not only that, there are reports that he has bad debts and “sleazy” business deals that Murphy didn’t know about. Monjack’s lawyer told Page Six that these are claims made by “disgruntled ex-girlfriends” and his immigration status is not affected by the marriage.

I’m not sure why the marriage wouldn’t affect his immigration status. Getting married to an American is certainly better than not if you’re in trouble with the immigration department. And those bad debts and business dealings? Strange things for disgruntled girlfriends to collectively complain about.
