In the tradition of films being made into Broadway musicals (The Wedding Singer, Hairspray, Legally Blonde), the 90’s comedy The First Wives Club will be getting a musical makeover. What’s more, there are reports that rapper/Oscar nominated actress Queen Latifah is interested in the re-vamped Goldie Hawn role.
Hey, it didn’t work for Footloose, but with The Queen on board, First Wives may just be a smash, and in five years we will be able to look forward to a movie-based-on-the-musical-based-on-the-movie. Whew…that made me dizzy.
