Brittany Murphy has been engaged three times since 2004, and it appears that the third time’s a charm. Murphy married British writer-director Simon Monjack several weeks ago, and it became public after the couple was spotted at the Kentucky Derby wearing wedding bands this past weekend. Reportedly, they were married at Murphy’s home at a very private ceremony with family in attendance and a rabbi officiating. Murphy’s publicist Nicole Perna confirmed the marriage.
Murphy was previously engaged to talent manager Jeff Kwatinetz for five months in 2004 but broke it off because, allegedly, he was still attached to his ex-girlfriend. More recently, Murphy got engaged to Joe Macaluso, a Little Black Book crew member whom she met on the set, on New Year’s ‘06, but they broke it off last August…just eight months ago. Here’s hoping this marriage lasts a little longer!

I really like her movies, granted some of them aren’t exactly oscar quality but she is fun too watch. It’s really sad when someone so young dies suddenly. My condolences to her family.

I’ve loved Brittany Murphy since she was in Clueless. I’ve followed her for years and It’s such a shock. What happened? I thought she Finally found happiness and a good life…? That’s terrible that she finally gets what she wants and dies shorty afterward. My sister was murdered when she was 17, in a triple murder suicide and my girl best friend died 9 days before i had to leave for bootcamp. My guy best friend died 6 months, almost to the day, later. Young dead like this is tragic and I have the deepest symathy for the family. May God help you through this… Love you Brittany!!!!!
Now, they both are dead. Hopefully, they are together in eternity. You could say that the marriage did last “until death do we part”.
