Rosie Inspires Unflattering Novel

Little Pink Slips

Let’s play Connect the Dots, shall we? Sally Koslow used to be editor-in-chief of a magazine called McCall’s. McCall’s was then renamed Rosie, as in Rosie O’Donnell’s magazine that turned out to be a huge public blunder. Got that? Okay. This same Sally Koslow wrote a book that was published last month, called Little Pink Slips. In this fictional tale, the heroine is the editor of a monthly ladies mag that gets taken over by a loud-mouthed talk show host named Bebe. Bebe is difficult, unpleasant to work for, and eventually ends up in court when she tries to dump her namesake magazine. I guess it’s like The Devil Wears Prada, only….not.

Maybe this trend will really catch on. I can’t wait ’til some former intern of the Tyra Banks Show writes a page-turner about a self-important former supermodel or when Katie Holmes pens a tale about a vertically challenged mega star who brainwashes an up-and-coming actress and holes her up in a million-dollar mansion after throwing away all her high heels.
