Barbara Walters Talked to Paris Hilton Over the Weekend, Barbara Said on The View

Barbara Walters announced on The View this morning that Paris Hilton spoke to her from jail. Barbara was on the phone yesterday with Paris’ mother, Kathy, when Paris called on the other line. Paris told her mother that she wanted to speak to Barbara and called her collect. Here’s the statement according to Barbara on this morning’s View:

I feel as if I’m a different person. I used to act dumb. That act is no longer cute. Now, I would like to make a difference. God has given me this new chance.”

Among other tidbits Babs reported: Paris has acquired a spiritual adviser, and she’s reading self-help books. She has “a power she can use for different things”. Some of the things she wants to do are creating multiple sclerosis and breast cancer foundations and a playhouse for sick kids.

Well, that all sounds great. Maybe Paris will change. I just hope to God that Paris’ spiritual adviser has nothing to do with anything Tom Cruise is involved in. I could see those people trying to “help” her. In fact, Sheriff Baca is a high-level Scientologist and probably made Paris promise that she’d get involved if he let her out of jail.
