Emma Thompson Reportedly Lights Up in a Manhattan Restaurant

British actress Emma Thompson and a male friend took it upon themselves to light up cigarettes on Tuesday while dining at the Waverly Inn, an upscale Manhattan restaurant, offending fellow diners including Men in Black star Will Smith. A source told the New York Daily News,

Emma and her friend pulled out their cigarettes and just lit up at the table while everyone was eating.

“Everyone else was glaring at them in disgust, including Will Smith.”

Smoking has been banned in bars and restaurants in New York since 2003, but I guess nobody told Ms. Thompson. Either that or she’s just very, very rude.
