Mandy Moore - Not Your Run-of-the-Mill Pop Tart

Mandy Moore had her biggest hit “Candy” during that whole “Hit the Genie in the Bottle One More Time” phase that pop radio was going through in the last day’s of the 90’s. That dark time in music history introduced us to Britney, Christina and Jessica. All of these ladies became superstars in their own right. All three have become tabloid staples, as well. We have speculated on who they date and what they wear. They’ve been giving us plenty to talk about over the years. Mandy, however, chose to go an entirely different route.

Her albums may have only been modestly successful in comparison to her counterparts, but she has an acting career that clearly overshadows the lame attempts made by Brit and Jess. She lampooned her good girl image in everything from the indie fav Saved to HBO’s Entourage. Sure she has dated her share of famous guys (tennis hunk Andy Roddick being one), but we never see her out on the town drunk with Paris or airing her dirty laundry (or the fact that she doesn’t know the proper way to wash it) on any self-serving reality show. Ms. Moore may have started out as a teen queen wannabe, but she has clearly risen above her peers.
