John Travolta is showing solidarity to his Scientology friend Tom Cruise by skipping the Today Show when his fellow cast mates of Hairspray perform there this summer to promote the film. Apparently, there are still hard feelings between Tiny Tom and his posse from that incident last year when Tom and Matt Lauer got into it over the validity of psychiatry. Travolta’s rep claims that he’s not showing up because he committed to Good Morning America first. What a load of bull. He couldn’t do that on another day? Not to worry, according to Roger Friedman at Fox. Travolta is not the most important part of the film.
From the footage that’s been seen, Latifah, James Marsden and Nikki Blonsky are the main musical draws.
