Seinfeld creator Larry David said that he “went home and turned all the lights on” after splitting from environment activist wife Laurie David, just what you imagine might happen on an art-imitating-life episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. When asked at Thursday’s Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills what he would put into his act if he ever did stand-up comedy again, he said that he wouldn’t be able to resist putting the divorce in.
It would probably be about the divorce. If I was going onstage, of course I would talk about it. How could I not?
And what about the rumors that the fame and passion Laurie got while on her whirlwind global-warming awareness tour with Sheryl Crowe caused the split? Larry dismisses it.
No, no, no, she’s been that way throughout. That’s nothing new.”
Well, I still think Laurie might have fallen for the illustrious and passionate ex-Vice President Al Gore. She was a producer of Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, and all of the Seinfeld money in the world couldn’t compete with such an environmental rock star.
