Note to all Westerners planning to have a wedding in India: Take your shoes off! Newlyweds Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar have already been disowned by Arun’s parents for what went down at their Indian wedding. It seems that the father’s public outcry may have encouraged others to take action. Now, Vishnu Khandelwal, a devout Hindu thought never to have met them, is beginning legal proceedings against the couple and Hurley’s father-in-law is willing to testify against them. They have been charged with “an intention to outrage the feelings of Hindus by insulting their religious and ritualistic beliefs” which is technically punishable with jail time and unlimited fines. Prosecuting lawyer HM Saraswat said:
An arrest warrant could be issued for Arun and Liz as soon as the prosecution has made its case – either because they are summonsed to give evidence or they have been found guilty.
Some of the complaints cited against the couple are: Elizabeth refusal to remove her shoes before the ceremony, showing off excess flesh, the couple’s drinking before the ceremony, and kissing in Hello! magazine (they made about $4 million from the deal.) In an earlier court hearing, Saraswat accused the couple of “utilising the Hindu marriage to spread Christianity”.
Lesson to be learned: There are places where even movie stars have to follow the rules. Maybe the Hollywood types should avoid these places for their own good.

good day
Elizabeth should respect him and his culture (who does she think she is ! ).
He should have been man-enough to stand his grounds for respect of his family and loved ones.
This is sooooooooo obvious whom wears the pants and skirt in this relationship !!!!
I think all of this is due to the simple fact that Elizabeth is not a traditional Indian woman and her husbands new family did not want her to be married to their son.
