Chuckle of the Day: Wacko Jacko’s Kids are Normal

When I think of normal celebrity children, I have to admit that I base the impression of normalcy on photos of kids who look, well, ordinary. For instance, I saw a lot of pictures of Ireland Baldwin recently, and she looks pretty normal (albeit a little tall.) Also I might classify the Demi Moore / Bruce Willis girls as pretty ordinary, with an acceptable wild streak. Now mind you, I don’t know these people and they could be the craziest wackjobs in the world, but I feel pretty confident that my impressions are at least somewhat accurate. Now if someone invited to observe the family tells me that the children of Michael Jackson are normal (because I can’t make that call from photos since I’ve only seen their faces covered), I may doubt it slightly, but this is exactly what happened.

Michael Jackson was in Japan recently with his three children, Blanket, Pillow, and Towel…I mean, Prince Michael, Paris, and Prince Michael II, and the publisher of Sister 2 Sister magazine, Jamie Foster Brown, was invited to “observe” the family. These are her impressions,

Michael is a devoted father… He’s raising them to be very polite, humble, and, believe it or not, pretty ordinary. They are calm, relaxed kids who play jokes on their dad.”

“At one point, Michael thought that his daughter had been rude to me and he got very upset. He’s raising them to be less pretentious than many children I have met.”

I’m sorry. I’m choosing the “not” in the “believe it or not” option. There is next to no chance that these kids are normal. Until Martin Bashir shows me these supposedly normal kids, I’m certainly not listening to what Ms. Brown has claimed by invitation only.
