Less than a week after telling Extra that he and Shrek the Third actress Cameron Diaz were “friends”, illusionist Criss Angel has now made a very public proclamation saying otherwise.

During his latest high-profile stunt he gave a couple of shout-outs to Diaz. The stunt consisted of being shackled inside a clear box containing wet cement which was hung 40 feet in the air over Times Square. Either he would escape or the box would fall to the ground 24 hours later. Yesterday before the box was shut with him inside, he said with some mystery,

This is dedicated to my new girl. You know who you are. I’ll be thinking of you.

And then after the box fell today, he appeared out of nowhere unscathed, and he said to the crowd,

I’d like to dedicate this escape to my girl ‘Trouble,’ a.k.a. Cameron. I love you baby. Have a safe trip to Europe for your Shrek tour.”

I guess his brush with death made him appreciate what he has. Either that or the couple took advantage of a good opportunity to promote Shrek the Third. I’m guessing it’s the second. Regardless, you have to feel sorry for poor Minnie.
